TERMS -NOMENCLATURE

Many different terms have been used to name Side Scan Sonar over the years. Some of these are listed below. Some are trademarked by their manufacturers. Probably the most grammatically correct term is Side-Scan Sonar. The choice is up to the author or manufacturer, but we suggest being consistent in your own usage. For this webpage we have chosen Side Scan Sonar.
